London. . . July the 16th. . . The Parliament having lately
made an Act against gaming, a merry gentleman wrote the
following lines upon it;
  'Tis said by law, that cheating will be check'd,
  And plain some folks must go, now richly deck'd.
  Harde fate, alas !  that all the sharping train,
  Should dwindle down, to blacking shoes again:
